Four exceptional artists paint to express the goodness of life, with subjects that feed our body, soul, and mind. Erika Sears, Scott French, Diana Marino, and Steven Walker present a display of captivating visual delights. From sightseeing to still-life feasts, each artist uses a distinguished brushstroke with singular style. Come feed your eyes with the display of talent April 7-28, 9 am—5 pm, and ask, ‘What does nourishment mean to you?’ Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, April 7, 6-8 pm, hosted by Destination Theatre.

On Saturday, April 23, the Douglasville Police Department will be holding our spring Community Yard Sale. We invite you to repurpose your old items and find new treasures. Spaces will be rented at $10 per 12×12 grass area/parking space or $25 for triple the grassy area space (36×12). Multiple spaces can be purchased together and you can request to be next to someone. Space may be limited due to number of applicants. This event is RAIN or SHINE and will be held outside.
Please make all inquiries reference this event prior to April 11.

Do you have old or expired medications? Douglasville Police Department has partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Douglas County Water & Sewer Authority, and Keep Douglasville Beautiful during the DEA Pill Take Back Day to help you clean out those medicine cabinets.
No questions asked, no forms or ID required. Liquid and pills are accepted. You can leave your medications in the original containers or empty them into a sealed plastic bag.
NO SHARPS (this defines needles, epipens, etc) OR INHALERS will be taken at this event, just medications.

Come out and show us your singing skills. The day’s festivities will include a talent show with prizes to the winners who are selected by the crowd applause. These will be live performances of clean (songs that do not contain offensive content) music on the front lawn of the Douglasville Police Department. Local artists will be present while community members are invited to show up and participate in the day. This is an organized event over the period of a few hours where you can relax, bring a lawn chair, and enjoy what the summer day has to offer. We will have food trucks and vendors. If you wish to know more, or learn how to participate, we welcome you to contact us to get more information. If you wish to register as a vendor, we have limited space, so call to sign up today. Vendor spots are $10 and require registration.

Once every two years, one of the largest groups of artists in Douglas County come together to display the work they have been creating. This exhibit is known to have on display everything from stained glass shining through the windows to clay sculptures and wood-turned vessels, along with breathtaking paintings and plenty of surprises between. The exhibit will be on display from May 9 to June 23, with an opening reception on May 26, from 6:00-8:00 pm, hosted by the Rotary Club of Douglas County.

This event is FREE to participate and attend. Whether you wish to bring your car and participate in the show, request to be a food vendor, or want to just come and see all the day has to offer, we invite you to get information ahead of time and make this a day for the whole family. You only spend money if you purchase from a food vendor. This is a new community outreach effort to show how we want our community to be one with us. Let’s have a fun-filled day together!
We do ask participants to pre-register so that we will know how much space is needed.

The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County, in partnership with the City of Douglasville, is ready to celebrate Spring with the community’s most popular event of the year, the annual Taste of Douglasville! Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 21st from 11 am -5 pm. RSVP to stay up-to-date with all the news updates!

Each year, participants not only enjoy Taste of Douglasville, but they also help the Cultural Arts Council support school programs reaching local students, providing affordable spring and summer arts camps in county and city parks, free “Family ARTSVentures!” curricula-based school performances followed by the same artists performing spring and fall concerts for the whole family, critically acclaimed gallery exhibits at the historic Roberts-Mozley House, and many more special events like the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
